Lia Gård is home to a Christian Community that hosts retreats and meetings on an estate in Østerdalen. Individuals, couples, families, small groups and whole churches come to be transformed and renewed by God.

Our Program

Every year we have some retreats held in English. In addition you may attend our other retreats even if you don't know Norwegian. We especially recommend our silent retreats. Here are our upcoming retreats and activities held in English:

About Lia Gård

240 km north of Oslo lies Lia Gård - a farm in the mountains with Lake Storsjøen below. The nearest neighbour lives 4 km away. The view is astonishing and the nature is powerful. The estate on which the farm lies, is varied and offers many opportunities for walks – both in the summer and the winter.

When visiting Lia Gård, we pray that you will experience a fresh encounter with God who is very near and is longing to meet with you. Lia Gård is an inhabited oasis in the deep forest of Norway. A place to which all people of all ages, regardless of their marital status or church affiliation can come no matter where they are in life or with their faith.

• Lia Gård is a farm with a history that goes back many hundred years. Starting with its more recent history, it was deserted in the 1950s because of its isolated geographical location and the general difficulty of running the place. Ingeborg and Sigmund Bø established the retreat center in 1976. Some years ago, their son Ingar and his wife Mareike moved to Lia Gård to work and start a family.

• Lia Gård is a vision moulded by the Bø family’s need to come into the quiet with the Lord Jesus and a desire to use their life and resources for the Kingdom of God.

• Lia Gård is a community of different people desiring to live close to each other and close to God.
